Surgery

When your pet needs surgery, regardless of whether it’s routine or complex, you want to know that they will be well cared for and kept as safe and comfortable as possible while not in your care. At Morningside Animal Hospital, we want to set your mind at ease. We take every precaution necessary to ensure the wellbeing of our surgical patients at all times – before, during and following surgery. We want you to feel confident that your pet will be in caring, capable hands with our experienced surgical team.

We offer a wide range of veterinary surgical services, from simple spay and neuter surgeries to more complex procedures. Our highly skilled veterinarians always adhere to the highest standards of care with each and every interaction, from the quality of our equipment to the advanced techniques we employ. Even the anesthesia we use is carefully selected for safety and effectiveness, and administered under the close watch of our veterinary technicians.

Prior to your pet’s surgery, we will conduct a thorough physical examination and run a number of diagnostic tests to ensure that he or she is healthy enough to undergo a surgical procedure. Once your pet has been cleared for surgery, we’ll then carefully develop a pain management plan that is customized to your companion’s unique needs, based on such things as age, overall health and the type of procedure being performed. Our skilled technicians will closely observe your pet throughout the procedure using modern monitoring equipment to ensure their safety and comfort at all times.

When surgery is complete, your pet will be relocated to our recovery area where he or she will continue to be monitored by our surgical team. A member of our support staff will contact you to advise you on how the procedure went and schedule a time for your pet to be picked up. When you arrive, we’ll explain our post-operative care instructions, including an appropriate pain management plan, if necessary, to help your pet recover comfortably. We’ll also gladly answer any questions that you may have for us. The goal is to get your pet fixed up and on the path to a full and speedy recovery as quickly as possible.
